Euphrasia Atieno

Euphrasia Atieno holds a compelling narrative of overcoming challenges in pursuit of education. Despite financial constraints, she secured her journalism degree from Multimedia University of Kenya through GLOW's intervention.

As an international exchange student sponsored by the US Department of State, Euphrasia studied Digital Marketing in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Fearlessly, she addressed global issues like education and human rights through a campus radio show she hosted. She also produced an award-winning podcast highlighting gender imbalances in Kenyan girls' education at the school's 16th Annual Digital Media Festival in 2016.

In her role at GLOW, Euphrasia oversees the Kenyan accounting system. She has successfully led the team in developing an online library resource for continuous learning, executed successful PR campaigns, and revived our mentor-mentee program post-Covid. Her story exemplifies the strength that emerges when girls are empowered to take a forefront seat, echoing her desire for widespread empowerment and positive change. Outside her professional pursuits, she finds joy in writing, music and dance.
